Approximate Timing & February Gardening Activities:

Early February

  • It’s time to plant your edible bulbs and tubers—such as garlic, onions and potatoes...
  • Tomato and pepper plant starts arriving now!
  • Have you fed your spring plantings yet? We’ve got a variety of fertilizers to choose from—including natural and organic fertilizers.

Mid-February

Late Feburary

  • Plant a shade tree today and enjoy an escape from our Arizona heat later...
  • Prune back frost-damaged plants to promote healthy, new growth.

February Planting Calendar

Plant the following edibles from 2/1 - 2/14:

  • Seeds: Beets, bok choy, carrots, collard greens, leaf lettuce, mustard, green onions, peas, potatoes, radishes, spinach, sunflower, and turnips
  • Transplants: Globe and Jerusalem artichokes, asparagus, chard, kohlrabi, and head and leaf lettuces
  • Sets: Bulb onions

Plant the following edibles from 2/15 - 2/28:

  • Seeds: Basil, beets, bok choy, carrots, collard greens, sweet corn, cucumbers, Armenian cucumbers, cantaloupe and watermelon melons, mustard, green onions, peas, potatoes, radishes, spinach, summer squash, sunflower, and turnips
  • Transplants: Globe and Jerusalem artichokes, leaf lettuce, peppers, and tomatoes
